Maison & Objet gave us 150 m², a generous budget, and complete freedom to address one question: what future for hospitality?

Here was our answer.

Welcome to Suite 2046. The years have passed...
But making love in a hotel room is still just as good.

In a world where everything seems to have already been designed, where staggering sums have been poured by hoteliers into the wildest ideas — a mammoth bathing in formaldehyde, facing the ocean, in Miami Beach ;
In a world where the pursuit of comfort has become the sole preoccupation, regardless of the impact on the planet, the beauty of landscapes, or the beauty of our cities and buildings ;

Nothing disturbs us anymore.
Everything looks the same.
Nothing leaves a mark.
Travel no longer elevates us. Excess comfort becomes unsettling. And we become vulgar.

Only one thing can save us: art.

Because art is beautiful, and art disturbs.
Because art is grace, and yet marked by imperfections.

And because without art, humans no longer see the stars.
