Le Belvédère - 2024
Le Belvédère is a 200-seat restaurant located near Crillon-Le-Brave, in Provence. Located in the heart of nature, the restaurant boasts an incredible view of the famous Mont Ventoux. The site is operated by the Vertigo group, a pioneer of Parisian bistronomy, renowned for its exemplary product sourcing.
Le Belvédère is set in exceptional natural surroundings. From the very first visit, it was clear that nature had to play a central role in the project. All the architecture has been designed to serve the beauty of the landscape and the extraordinary force that emanates from it.
Soft lines and sober materials soothe visitors from the moment they enter. The curves, drawn with pencil instead of computer, seem more delicate. A succession of arches punctuates the discovery of the site. They act as obstacles, delaying the moment of discovery. Slowing down the pace to become more sensitive is what the project is all about.
Finally, large bay windows frame selected views of the landscape and provide gentle ventilation. Sitting on the benches, all you can perceive is the immensity of the sky, the lovely treetops and the gentle rustle of crickets.
The project evokes the idea of gentle, sunny modernism. A slight rusticity reminds us that the restaurant is located in the mountains, where winters are still harsh.
